Hello Iverians,
I could only ask all of you not to be influenced by belle=D Holidays are coming to an end.. How are ur holidays? I bet most of u dont enjoy it, except for belle i guess. U know why? Because we have a mountain of HOMEWORK! Well, all of u prefergroup work or individual? well, i prefer individual.Dont ask me why. Why dont let us reflect.......... We have 9 days of holidays. ALL of us have cca commitments(I HAVE 3 TRAININGS.) Then, we still need to complete our homework. Group work, we need tomeet up and complete it. How can we make sure that ALL members are present? If not, the meet-up willdelay.........until end of holidays. Besides,in 1 meeting, we can only discuss and take action. More or less we need to meet up again to do the rest of the project. THEN again, we have different commitments that willprevent us from having another successful meeting. So most likely in the end, not allmembers of that particular group will allparticipate and produce the finishing product.

In the past, I was looking forward to holidays but now, that thinking has changed entirely. At least on schooldays, we will get only a mirority each day. Now we get a whole load for a week. Thus, we would always have no motivation tocomplete as there is a mountain, and time will be delayed. If u do mathematics calculations, the latter is more time-consuming.Why allthese is happening? I know all these are part and parcel of a student;s life, but this is just the starting of our secondary one life. WE are not used to this AT ALL. Whats more, wehave a maths common test next wednesday, and we will have lesser time to revise. To further research on our meaning, i searched holiday on
http://www.dictionary.com/ and found the most suitable meaning. The meaning is:3. (Law) A day fixed by law for suspension of business; a legal holiday. HMM i wonder, we are students and the business part is probably learning and doing homework. So,i wonder if we had really negelected the meaning of the so-called 'HOLIDAY' to rephrase it, its simply a period where theres no learning but doing homework still takes place. Not forgetting our cca commitments. No, im not sure if this is true, but its a freeperiod where our time is exploited that was planned for recreation to do stuff that we do almost everyday.

If this is what we get for March holidays,i cant imagine what we will get for June holidays. But after all, this is part and parcel oflife, so get usedto it, we will be having more of this in future. However I still need to improve on timemanagement and not doall at last minute. Work Hard, Play Hard. Please dont learn from belle and do last minute homework. This is not beneficial for u. [[/ edit : WTH IS THIS?? WHY DRAG ME INTO IT?!?! MARCUS EEEEEEE. ughhh. you are dead. ]] Holidays are beginning to be dreaded by students because of the pit of homework. Besides planning ur own time and wake up late/sleep late, I cant possibly think of ANY other benefits of holidays. If u thought of another benefit, please notify me through msn/email/face-to-face.

This is only my 2 cents worth and I am not expecting a furious debate/riot to arise because of this post. Teachers who read this, please take this as just an opinion by an ordinary student and this opinion will have no bearing on any bad consequences that may happen in future.

Marcus
