The agenda for this lesson was as follows:
• Why is the class not reaching its maximum potential?

Everyone in the class had to stand up individually to give reasons to explain this phenomenon, or to suggest how to improve the present situation.

No. Matter Discussed
1. Reasons
1.1 We are stressed by our academic life as year twos, as subjects taught are much harder to comprehend compared to year one. We have also been bombarded by common tests recently.
1.2 We also have more responsibility in our CCAs as we are representing our school in competitions and performing in concerts. Because of the above reasons, there is less time for us to bond.
1.3 Now, we also have many other commitments, so some of us cannot really be bothered to help out more than we are required to.
1.4 The class committee has been very busy lately, hence quite slack.
1.5 Our class cleanliness has been declining. This could be due to the “someone else will get it done” mindset in some pupils.
1.6 It is not a ‘class culture’ in Iver to speak up, and we lack initiative sometimes.
1.7 Positions (Class committee, notice board and class tee committee) are quite new to most of the class.
2. Suggestions For Improvement
2.1 Better time management and prioritizing.
2.2 Class committee members to delegate duties to non-committee members (hence the notice board and class tee committees)
2.3 Whole class to show more concern, support and motivate each other. However, motivation should also come from within.
2.4 Give more suggestions to the class tee and the notice board committee to make our class more bonded and look nicer.
2.5 There should also be enhanced communication within the whole class.
2.6 More class activities including a class outing to bond the class better.
2.7 Every single Iverian has to play a part in improving the class; it isn’t just one person or a group of people’s job. The effort of the whole class counts.
2.8 Every Iverian to be in a committee (?)

After this PCCG lesson, hearing the feedback from pupils as well as teachers, the class was made more aware of any improvements that have to be made, as well as how to go about doing them.

Students were in groups of six, inclusive of both genders. This was to ensure that the opinions were from both sides, and to let the boys and girls interact more. One or two group members were then selected by the group to present to the class.

No.	Matter Discussed
1.	Achievements that Students Were Proud of in 2009
1.1	First for NAPFA (Physical Fitness Test) with 100% pass, first in Overall Class Cleanliness and first in level for Maths Science Pillar (MSP) challenge.
1.2	The boys were second for the Basketball Inter-class Tournament. We were also second for Orientation and the Environmental Fashion Show.
1.3	Good and efficient Class Committee.
1.4	Both class outings were fun and bonded the class better.
1.5	Built a reputation among teachers and peers for being relatively well-behaved and polite.
1.6	At first, the class was quiet and unresponsive. However, as the year progressed, we worked hard together to participate more actively.
1.7	The class fared reasonably well for the EOYs.
1.8	We were pretty bonded by the end of the year, as shown in the fact that almost everyone went to the Inter-Class to support our teams.
1.9	The girls also showed good sportsmanship after the Inter-Class netball, and did not complain of biasness/ unfairness when the opponent won.
1.10	One of our teams obtained the ‘Never-say-die’ award in the DHS X’plore 2010.
2.	Low Points of 2009
2.1	The class was still quite quiet and did not participate as much as the teachers expected us to. We were also quite slow in most of our activities.
2.2	There was a divide between the boys and girls, i.e. the boys and girls were bonded well within themselves, but interaction between the genders can still be improved.
2.3	Sometimes, not the whole class was committed to lessons or activities. I.e. some talk among themselves or zone out when they were supposed to do group work.
2.4	There were occasional cliques, and some seldom interacted with those outside of the clique.
2.5	Some of the class also did not know the entire level much.
2.6	Our level camp was cancelled due to the H1N1 outbreak.
3.	Actions to Bond the Class Better in 2010
3.1	Encourage boys and girls to interact more.
3.2	A successful class outing. We are currently deciding between an amazing race, playing paintball, and a fencing session. Fencing was suggested by our Co-Form Teacher, Mr Zein, as he sees it as an opportunity to know each other better, as well as learn values such as teamwork, chivalry and sportsmanship. He is also trying to get a subsidy from the school for the $40 full-day session. (WHEEPEE!! pee??)
3.3	Class chalet during the holidays.
3.4	A new class t-shirt.
3.5	More interaction between boys and girls. This will be achieved through more group work, eating lunch and recess together, and having study sessions with the whole class.
3.6	Be first for class league and maintain Inter-Class standards for the boys, improve the standards for the girls.
3.7	Obtain more Gold awards for NAPFA by including activities to help improve our fitness. Everyone to get at least the Bronze award.
3.8	Maintain standard of class cleanliness
3.9	Whole class to obtain GPA of at least 2.8.

This letter was recently sent by Tesco's Head Office to a customer in Oxford:

Dear Mrs. Murray,

While we thank you for your valued custom and use of the Tesco Loyalty Card,the Manager of our store in Banbury is considering banning you and your family from shopping with us, unless your husband stops his antics.
Below is a list of offences over the past few months all verified by our surveillance cameras:

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's trolleys when they weren't looking. theres nothing perverted about this.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to feminine products aisle.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone,"Code 3" in housewares..... and watched what happened.

5. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

6. September 15: Set up a tent in the outdoor clothing department and told shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring sausages and a Calor gas stove.

7. September 23: When the Deputy Manager asked if she could help him,he began to cry and asked, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

8. October 4: Looked right into the security camera; used it as a mirror, picked his nose and ate it. (LOLLL)

9. November 10: While appearing to be choosing kitchen knives in the Housewares aisle asked an assistant if he knew where the anti-depressants were.

10. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously, loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.

11. December 6: In the kitchenware aisle, practised the "Madonna look" using different size funnels.

12. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed, yelled "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!"

13. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker,assumed the foetal position and screamed "NO! NO! It's those voices again."

And; last, but not least:
14. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while; then yelled, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here."

as u all know, this friday is the mid autumn festival thing, so during the celebration, we will be having some activities and sort of competition with the other classes. So first, we need to construct a lantern. Cannot be very small..have to be big..then maybe u all can brainstorm on what ideas coz we needa be creative in making a lantern. :\ We just need to bring the materials on fri, and we will be given 1 hr to construct the lantern. Furthermore, we will also need to make a card like on Mid- Autumn festival. It needs to be in chinese. But we will also be given time to do that on fri. Me and clarabelle will explain more in detail. However, pls note that if the class do not give any constructive ideas, me n belle will have to give out orders again ): And, another thing is, this is a CLASS effort not an individual work. ie. we only need produce 1 lantern and 1 card by the end on 1 hr. -Bright coloured t-shirt, please try not to wear school-based t-shirt(or any coloured t-shirt but try not to wear dull colours like black or dark brown please)

Some of the iverians don't have colourful caps, so be nicee ppl lend you extra ones to them :D)

-Cut out pink/red heart with the teachers' names on it.

ok...we decided to buy the following food:

1) bee hoon (maybe someone's parent can make...anyone can?if not we nid to buy...which i dunno where...) 2 people can cook.

Jia Min here. I have something to tell those people who are participating in the Chinese storytelling competition.

Huang Lao shi said that we have to stay back for 1 hour on Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri. those who have 3rd Lang can dun nid to come. For those people who have CCA on Fri, u all can dun come. But, bad news is that if u dun come for any of the days, u hav to stay back for two hours on your available days. Pls eat first before you go find teacher. It's best that we go together, so we can practise together.

Hi Ivers!

Its been quite some time since I last blogged but I believe listening to me in person everyday is much better than just reading what I type on the blog right? :P

During today's session where the class came together to prepare for the powerpoint presentation & poster for Racial Harmony Celebrations, I was delightfully surprised by the high level of cooperation by all of you and in that sense, I felt a strong sense of pride watching each of you go about helping out in planning for the various aspects of the two projects.

I must say that of course, there was the occassional distraction ur where some of you broke into your cliques to joke and fool around, I could tell that for most of the time, many of you were putting in your best efforts in completing the two projects. (Haha..if you were not, then NOW's the time to feel guilty and do something to redeem yourself!)

I believe I have been strict with 1I and my expectations have been set high for all of you since the very day I stepped into class this year. Throughout the semester, we've had down periods and we've had our fair share of excitement but I am confident that 1I is evolving, growing to be a class with well-mannered, disciplined individuals who aim to care, to serve and to lead as a Dunmanian. =)

In this essay, I am going to talk to you about fats. You may think that it is a peculiar topic, but people today are getting fatter and fatter so we have to do something to stop that.

If you want to beat an enemy (like fats), then you must know about the enemy. Fats are abnormal particles of soft meat that make you go to the TAF club (Trim And Fit club) in your school. You may not believe it, but each day, an average person grows one hundred grams of fat! Which scientist told me that? I, myself. Although there is no scientific proof that all scientists need before proving a theory, let me tell you that a little bird flew by and told me that. (Okay, that is a lie...a white one, and I have no idea how many fats an average person grows per day.)

There are all kinds of fats and these are really scientific. (I hope) examples are: butt fats, tummy fats, leg fats, lung fats, blood vessel fat(this is true) and many more other different types of soft, squishy fats. System override! This essay cannot take too many fats! System will self-destruct in ten seconds…STOP! See how fats take up something and makes it override? This is how serious the ‘fat’ problem is.

How do we fight fats? This is a simple, five step plan that is guaranteed to work if you want to be anti-fat. ( This is very good for working people as they seldom have time to exercise, and that includes you, dad!)

1) Do not eat too much fatty food.

2) Exercise ten times per day (This includes climbing up staircases and cooking.)

3) Do not be carnivorous (Please eat more veggies, and although they do not taste as good as fatty meat, they are much better for your health.)

4) Drink less soft drinks, they contain lots of carbonated fats.

5) Do not let your child(ren) type meaningless compositions like this one as it reduces their exercising time! (This is an official complaint against children’s rights!)

Please follow the rules! (Especially the fifth one) If you want to be an anti-fat ambassador, you can sign up at any participating seven-eleven outlets. (The committee has not found any outlets willing to participate, but if you are really keen, you can try all the stores.)All anti-fat ambassadors will receive a diet package (all veggies, no meat), and a pin that says that ‘I am anti-fat!’ all for free. Your diet will be monitored carefully by surveillance cameras that take away (directly from your hand or spoon) any unhealthy food.

Okay, all the above about the anti-fat committee is NOT true! Get it yes? Fiction! So please do not go to a seven-eleven outlet to ask for a membership. If you try to be funny and do that, the cashier will give you a stare that you will remember for the rest of your puny life (maybe even your next life.)

I personally tried this before and the cashier gave me a look that I still remember. If you ask me how I knew of this anti-fat committee, and you are thinking: what an imaginative imagination this child has! Sadly, it is WRONG!

I found it on a brochure that was carelessly chucked into my mailbox. It was really crumpled so it aroused my suspicions. I opened it immediately. There it was, the anti-fat membership form! All of the anti-fat rules were copied word for word from the old looking brochure. Surprised, right? Anyway, the anti-fat tips really work! I tried them on my fat friend and so far, she has lost ten kilograms and is officially out of the TAF club. Although the brochure led me into serious trouble with the cashier, (she wanted to call the police and my parents as she thought it was a prank.) The tips were really useful! (You do realise that I am writing crap and rubbish.)

You dumb person! You fell for it again! There is no anti-fat committee so I thought of it. I also never went to seven-eleven on my own (the main reason is my overprotective parents.)

8. Previously, all Junior High students were informed to report to school by 2.00pm on 29 Jun (Monday) for the Asian Youth Game’s (AYG) Torch Relay Celebration. In view of the current H1N1 situation and the need to minimize congregation, the school has decided to limit the participants of this AYG event to just staff and some student representatives. Thus, Junior High students are not required to attend the event, unless they are performing for the event or selected to participate.

Given the above change and the need to carry out a series of precautionary measures before lessons can commence, all students (both Junior High and Senior High) are required to report to school on 29 Jun (Monday) by 8.00am, instead of the usual 9am. To minimize congregation, flag-raising ceremony will be conducted in the classrooms and not the parade square. All students are reminded to bring along their working ODTs to school every day until further notice.

Er, people i think you guys will be having troubles again =D

Please check your dhs mail, there will be this email about the history project, saying that we should be following the old instruction given about the project, which is te presentation one, fo the time being. Only if the ministry of education gives us an extra week of holiday cos of the H1N1, den we will use de moodle one as home based lurning.

So, if people who have done the presentation rehearsal, then changed to writing the script, i am so soory but you will hav to prepare for the presentation again :P
